Increasing technical knowledge to reduce the safety gap for mountain leaders, including professionals who need our help the most, is a vocation of the Petzl Foundation. This is mainly achieved through training. Since 2006, the Petzl Foundation has worked closely with the International Mountaineering and Climbing Federation (UIAA), which includes national federations, to promote good safety practice worldwide.
The Petzl Foundation became associated with the NGO Pompiers Sans Frontières (Firefighters Without Borders) based on a common goal: to help develop the search and rescue capability of Peruvian firefighters. Project supported since 2007.
